In this article, we will provide you the instructions on setting up two-factor authentication for your Veracity account. You can also watch the video for a step-by-step walkthrough of the enabling process.

  1. To enable multi-factor authentication, go to “User settings” under your profile.

  2. Click on “Security”:

  3. Before you can enable two-factor authentication, you need to register (enroll/verify) the method you want to use. We strongly recommend TOTP as it is more secure.

    · To use TOTP:

    i. Install an authenticator app on your phone/mobile device that supports TOTP

(e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator)

ii. Click on “Enroll TOTP”. Note that you will also be asked to verify your phone

number as we will use the phone number if you need to reset your TOTP

settings (e.g. if you change to a new phone).

    · To use SMS/Call as 2FA option, click on “Verify phone number”

  4. Specify your country and phone number and click on “Send code” or “Call me”:

  5. If you clicked on the “Call me” option, you will receive a call from Microsoft and you need to approve it by pressing the # key. If you selected “Send code”, input the code sent to you by SMS and click on “Verify code”:

  6. If you selected “Verify phone number”, jump to Step 10 to enable 2FA. If you selected “Enroll TOTP”, you will see the below:

  7. In your authenticator app on your phone, add a new account:

    · Microsoft Authenticator:

    i. Click on the + sign in the upper right corner

ii. Click Work or school account

iii. Select “Scan QR code” and hold your phone over the QR code shown

in the browser (the QR code looks like the one marked in red in the image above).

    · Google Authenticator:

    i. Click on the + sign in the lower right corner and click on “Scan a QR code”

ii. Hold your phone over the QR code in the browser (the QR code looks like the one

marked in red in the image above).

  8. Back in the web browser, click the “Continue” button:

  9. Input the code you see in your authenticator app and click on “Verify”:

  10. The last step is to enable two-factor authentication for your account:
