Written by Veracity by DNV

In this article, we will provide you the instructions on setting up two-factor authentication for your Veracity account.

Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication for Your Veracity Account

  1. To enable multi-factor authentication, go to “User settings” under your profile.

  2. Click on “Security”:

  3. Before you can enable two-factor authentication, you need to register (enroll) the method you want to use. The standard method allowed is TOTP as it is more secure.

  4. Install an authenticator app on your phone/mobile device that supports TOTP (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator).

  5. Click on “Enroll TOTP”.

  6. In your authenticator app on your phone, add a new account:

    · Microsoft Authenticator:

    i. Click on the + sign in the upper right corner

ii. Click Work or school account

iii. Select “Scan QR code” and hold your phone over the QR code shown

    in the browser (2).

    · Google Authenticator:

    i. Click on the + sign in the lower right corner and click on “Scan a QR code”

ii. Hold your phone over the QR code in the browser (2).

You should now see a new record in your authenticator app with title “Veracity” and with your email address underneath. The code shown shall be input in the browser (3).

  7. Click the “Continue” (4) button.

  8. The last step is to enable two-factor authentication for your account.

Register phone number for account recovery

  1. After a period of time, you’ll be prompted to register a phone number as well.

  2. When you click “Continue”, you will see the below. Specify your phone number and click on “Send code” or “Call me”.

  3. If you clicked on the “Call me” option, you will receive a call from Microsoft and you need to approve it by pressing the # key. If you selected “Send code”, input the code sent to you by SMS and click on “Verify code”.
